Elevating Spaces: How I Designed a Stylish Two-Bedroom Condo
Interior design, much like fashion, is about telling a story through textures, colors, and shapes. As someone who lives and breathes fashion, I’ve always found a natural connection between curating outfits and designing spaces. One of my favorite projects was a complete transformation of a two-bedroom condo—a chance to take a blank slate and craft something extraordinary.
The goal for this condo was simple: create a space that felt as elevated and intentional. Without furnishings to rely on, the design had to shine through the finishes alone. I wanted to create a warm, minimalist retreat that felt both luxurious and approachable—a reflection of my personal design philosophy.

This was a full gut renovation—a rare opportunity to build a design vision from scratch. Here’s how I approached it:
1. Space Planning: Much like tailoring an outfit to fit perfectly, the layout was reimagined to enhance flow and functionality. The closed-off kitchen was opened up to create a seamless connection to the living area—a move that felt as freeing as swapping out stiff jeans for a flowing dress.
2. Material Selection: Every material was chosen with care. From the functional LVP flooring that added warmth and a minimalist touch, while a sophisticated white kitchen backsplash tiles brought in subtle texture and shine. I added a beautifully bold wallpaper to the powder bathroom and custom Sherwin Williams Creamy paint color for the kitchen cabinetry that offered a grounding contrast.
3. Unique Finishes: The bathroom became the space where I let my creativity run wild. A bold double mirror and sconce situation became the statement piece, paired with black fixtures for a touch of contrast.
4. Lighting Design: Lighting is the jewelry of a space—it’s all about adding the perfect finishing touch. Recessed lighting provided an even glow throughout, while statement pendants and sconces brought personality. The dining area’s sculptural light fixture, for instance, felt like a standout necklace—both functional and eye-catching.
5. Color Palette: Much like a wardrobe built around timeless neutrals, the condo’s palette featured soft whites, creamy beige, and natural wood tones. This created a serene, versatile backdrop, while subtle pops of contrast color—introduced through accent fixtures and hardware—added just the right amount of interest.

Although the condo was never furnished, it felt complete in its own way—a testament to the power of thoughtful design. Every detail, from the flooring to the fixtures, worked together to create a space that was both elevated and inviting. It was a blank canvas ready to be personalized by its future owner, much like a classic blazer waiting to be styled.
Reflections
This project reinforced something I’ve always believed: great design, whether in fashion or interiors, starts with intentionality. Without furnishings to rely on, the finishes had to tell the entire story, and it was a rewarding challenge to make every detail count. It reminded me that style—in any form—is about creating a cohesive vision that feels authentic. If you’re looking to transform your space, whether it’s a single room or a full renovation, let’s create something uniquely yours. After all, great design isn’t just about how it looks—it’s about how it makes you feel.
